One of Ghana’s finest
radio personalities, Francis Cann
popularly known in showbiz as Dr. Cann of Hitz FM, formerly of Happy FM in Accra
has urged Sarkodie to come out and apologize to the media.
Sarkodie |
The
Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie released a mixtape titled “Free Press” last week, in
which the Adonai hit maker expressed his dissatisfaction about how Ghanaian
journalists use their platforms to talk ill of Ghanaian artistes including
himself, but raise other foreign musicians high.
However
some media personnel in the country think the song is insulting and sarkodie is
being disrespectful.
In an interview with
Feeling Daddy on the Penpenaa Show (Entertainment Review Program) on Spice 91.9
FM in Takoradi, Dr. Cann revealed that Sarkodie is someone he admires so much,
but what he has done is totally wrong. He added that Sarkodie has no idea what
the media personnel in Ghana do.
According to the former
Showbiz Extra host, the media played a major role in the success of the
Sarkodie brand, so if he (Sarkodie) is in turn being ungrateful and
disrespectful, then the media will advise itself.
“You don’t have to look down on people because you have been blessed by
God to a certain level. You might think you are richer than some of us the
media guys, but that doesn’t mean you should disrespect us because it has
happened before. Let’s take Kiki Gyan for instance. At a point in time he (Kiki Gyan)
controlled money, but what happened to him in the end? My advice is, he
(Sarkodie) is my younger brother, so he must be humble.” Dr. Cann advised.
He added that he is not
taking this personal, but Sarkodie is simply being ungrateful.
