The service which took place at the Kumasi Cultural Center over the weekend, Saturday October 25 2014 saw thousands of people from all walks of life throng the venue to pay their last respect to the musician whose music and life touched several others.
He was laid in state from morning till around 5pm for all to pay their last respect. Known widely for the use of the musical instrument, an accordion, his casket was craftily designed in the shape of an accordion.
Present were a radio personalities, colleague Gospel musicians including Edward Akwasi Boateng, Mama Esther, YABS, Willie and Mike, Rev. Yawson, Mary Ghansah, Dan Bassey etc.
The late musician was later interred in his village at night as customs demanded since he was a heir to a throne. (Royals according to the Akan tradition are buried at night).
Rev. Kusi Berko the late, well known for hit songs such as Ofata/Nyame Aguama, Edin Ben Ni, and many others battled with stroke for the past six years before his death this year.
