KUMASI BASED RADIO PERSONALITY SHOT

Host of Kumasi based Kapital Radio’s flagship morning show (Daybreak Kapital) and son of Ashanti regional security Liaison Officer, Kojo Bimpoe Marfo, and two others are currently receiving treatment at the emergency ward of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) after they sustained gunshots wounds Sunday afternoon.

Mr. Marfo on Sunday visited his gold dealer friend, Maxwell at his residence in Pakyi-Nkoransa on the Kumasi-Obuasi road where the shooting incident happened. According to Kojo Marfo while on his sick bed at the hospital, the unknown gunmen subjected them to severe beatings and molestations before committing the heinous act. He was shot in both thighs and the other persons sustained the shots in their arms. Scores of people, sympathizers and family relatives thronged to the hospital to ascertain the veracity of the sad news.

Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kofi Boakye who visited the scene of the incident revealed that there were blood stains all over indicating that the victims bled profusely. DCOP Kofi Boakye says they will launch investigations into the shooting incident to track the perpetrators. An eyewitness also disclosed that the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in the house captured the whole incident.
