AUGUSTIN DENNIS HAS DONE IT AGAIN

It was a night of rib cracking over the weekend in Takoradi at the much anticipated Corporate Comedy Series Show. The success story in all was that Ghana Comedy is not dead, and thanks to the seed sown by David Oscar (originator of corporate comedy series) who has been the single vocalist all these years that GH comedy is indeed alive. As the MC for the show, David Oscar  kept asking ‘Is Ghana Comedy Dead?’ with the response being ‘No’ from the audience.

The show took place at the Best Western Atlantic Hotel with about 700 people in attendance, witnessed performances from Jacinta the only female Ghanaian stand-up comedian alive, James Brown, Khemikal, Foster, Augustin Dennis and the man of the moment DKB. There were musical performances from Native, Nero X and (Ayigbe) Edem.

Talk of the comedian who cracked more ribs at show, Augustin Dennis was ‘crowned’ the King of Laughter for the night as he generated the highest amount of laughs and claps on the night and capped it off with a standing ovation by some sections of the audience who fell in love with his energy, delivery and observational jokes. Augustin Dennis who was performing in front of his home crowd churned out a lot jokes that his Takoradi native audience could to relate with. At the end of the show opinions sampled from the audience was that ‘the Taadi boy spoil there’ (The Takoradi Guy was the man of the night).
It must be emphasized that even though Augustin Dennis was the best for the night, all comedians did very well.

Pasino Fred who over the week wrote an article in his own words ‘GH Comedy: After DKB who is next? Nothing’ will have to revise his notes. I dare answer that there is nothing like someone trailing or playing second best to DKB. There is DKB, Augustin Dennis, Khemikal, James Brown, Foster, Jacintha and don’t forget KSM and David Oscar are not dead.
