Ghana will face Guinea in the Africa Cup of Nations
quarter-finals after lots were drawn to determine whether they or Mali would
progress from the group.
Mali and Guinea played out a 1-1 stalemate on Wednesday
after having each drawn their previous two games in the group, meaning their
fates had to be determined by a random draw Thursday.
After the lots were cast, Guinea was the successful
side in the proceedings run by the Afcon Organising Committee in Malabo,
meaning they advance behind Group D winners Cote d'Ivoire.
The Black Stars will face off with Guinea on Sunday in
the last-eight.
