ONLY GOD SAVED US FROM THAT PLANE CRASH – GIFTY OSEI
Ghanaian Gospel musician, Gifty Osei, who was one of the passengers on the Starbow flight which embarked on an emergency landing on Tuesday, has described the experience as “the most terrible day of her life”.
According to the "Aseda" hitmaker, only God saved the nation from a major catastrophe as the plane looked like heading for a crash.
The flight heading for Takoradi made an emergency landing, at the Kotoka International Airport after developing a mechanical fault mid-air.
The CEO of Starbow, James Antwi, who confirmed the news said the fault was due to "hydraulic failures" and the pilot had to make a “flapless landing”.
A flapless approach is a method of landing an aircraft without the use of flaps. This manoeuvre is typically only used in military and light aircraft as the physical demands on the airframe and pilot are usually deemed too risky for commercial operations.
Speaking to Okay, FM, the ‘Aseda’ hit singer said “I feared the worst would happen, it was a terrible experience and we didn’t know what to do. All I heard was, every passenger screaming the name of Jesus and praying for his intervention. The experience was scary”.
Gifty also noted that the Management of the airline has promised to ensure that all injured passengers are given the utmost care and attention.
